Using Tinkercad, I was prompted to design a device that would solve a real world issue. The device I designed is called “ Sea Duck.” This buoy like machine atomizes salt from the water it floats on to cool the atmosphere;.
Meme’s are just a wonderful way to inject humor into the everyday and make lessons, and lectures a little more interesting. I use imgflip to make my memes, but there are many other free meme generators out there (also, just make them yourself using photoshop or literally any other platform that has editing capabilities)
Using Storyboardthat, I was able to make a fun cartoon to introduce myself to fellow education students. I see many possiblities in the use of this platform in my classroom, I envision using this story board app as a tool for curricular collaboration- combining digital media and english language arts.
This is a video I created using CANVA. The video I made is a very general “how to” for educators who are considering a more tech forward learning experience for their students. I find the drag and drop animation features on CANVA really fun and easy to use, again, true instant gratification. It was very easy to drop the exported files from CANVA into Vimeo which then generated to HTML coding that I used to embed this video.
As I work towards my teaching license, I am taking time to consider and discover new digital technologies that I can invite into my classroom. Pictured here are examples of assignments from a course I completed in Edtech, concerning ISTE learning standards and their application(UMASSAmherst). I value a teaching praxis that encourages student generated knowledge. I would be doing my future students a disservice if I am not consistently anticipating new ways to access knowledge and enrichment both within and beyond the walls of my classroom. Click on the images to try out each of these platforms for yourself.
This is a poster/info graphic for yet another group project regarding the topic of techno-ethics. Digital media literacy is important for both students and educators alike. The poster was made entirely using CANVA, which allows users to generate media like posters, videos and graphs with free templates, stock images and fonts. This platform is a great foray into photo shop or indesign- a very easy to use graphic design platform with a really generous free account option.
“Civics Land";” A play on the old favorite, “Candy Land,,” was a collaborative group project on the topic of civic engagement- the project came together very quickly using Google Drawings
